Bonafide Films - Thursday, July 26, 2012

Bonafide's multimedia feature film Nocturne, a subtle, potent tale of unlikely revenge, is in development with Film 4.0 and is scheduled to shoot spring 2013. The film brings together three fantastic talents, screenwriter Malachi Smyth (Ghost Machine), director Konstantinos Frangopolous (Blackwater) and actor and Bonafide co founder Sacha Alexander (The Gigolos). Bonafide Films have won a significant investment from North East Creative Content Fund, the latest deal by Northern Film & Media and Northstar Ventures £2.4m Finance for Business, an investment matched by private investors, which will enable business partners Margery Bone and Sacha Alexander to develop a series of high profile film and TV projects.

Bonafide’s current ventures include 'Undercover' – a sit com co-production with Steve Coogan and Henry Normal’s Baby Cow for television. 'Undercover' is co-written by Alexander, Ant & Dec writer Andy Milligan and Miranda writer Simon Dean. The company is also developing contemporary sci-fi television series Korridor by writer Jay Basu and has optioned thriller novel 'Cold Earth' for a feature adaptation by Lyndsay Shapero (writer of Bafta nominated 'Enid') and Olivier Nilsson-Julien. Meanwhile, we have just completed 'Gee Gee' – a Film 4 and UK Film Council funded short written and directed by 'Men Who Stare at Goats' creator Peter Straughan. Peter’s directorial debut is in support of a feature with Film 4 which Bonafide will produce. Bonafide is also shortly to announce a new high profile TV series co production for development with a major broadcaster.
